"The Drift of Our Elders"
A Limited Edition Collaboration Between Good Throw Co x Taylor-Lee Ochre Sisters

“The Drift of Our Elders” is a piece inspired by the passing down of knowledge, culture, and tradition. The artwork illustrates how cultural values and learning seamlessly intertwine. At the base, elders are depicted side by side, with an abundant river of knowledge flowing outward as a symbol of continuous learning. At its centre sits a sacred yarning circle — a place of discussion, sharing, and enriched relationships. Surrounding the circle are children, women, men, and elders gathered to tell stories of the land, sea, and sky, represented through motifs such as the palm tree, turtle, and moon.
Together these symbols, colour palette and ochre textures tell the story of ‘The Drift of Our Elders’.
THE DESIGNER
Taylor-Lee is a new and upcoming Indigenous artist from the southern Gold Coast. She’s a proud young Kungadidji 14 year old who loves to surf, skate and paint. Often her art pieces will reflect this passion with ocean features, blue hues or boho pastels.
In 2023 Taylor-Lee’s artwork she designed for Naidoc Week was one of six highly commended art pieces chosen by the Qld government. Not long after this she then went on to win the Young, Black & Proud Scholarship for her art.

Taylor-Lee has since worked hard between her school work and surfing, designing new pieces that she sells on Instagram known as "Ochre_Sisters" in name of her and her younger indigenous sister.

Good Throw Co. is a family-owned business based on the Southern Gold Coast, founded by Jessica and her partner, together with their three daughters. Their eldest, Taylor-Lee of Ochre Sisters, contributes her Indigenous artwork to many of their designs, alongside collaborations with other Indigenous and Australian artists. Specialising in woven throws made from recycled cotton, Good Throw Co. blends sustainability with meaningful storytelling, offering pieces that are both beautiful and socially responsible.
Each throw is a celebration of culture, craftsmanship, and comfort — designed to be lived with, shared, and cherished.
