First launched in 2016 after several years of design, development, a few missteps and important technological innovations, the Bok chair rapidly became Ethnicraft’s most iconic piece. Made of solid wood, the elegant dining chair is thoughtfully crafted with comfort and style in mind.
The Ethnicraft Bok collection's signature design is reminiscent of a goat's slim legs and curved horns. In these eye-catching pieces, designer Alain van Havre combines sculptural elegance and contemporary craftsmanship into a graceful and airy form.

Alain van Havre brings a deep connection to natural materials and exceptional woodworking expertise. His designs blend timelessness with contemporary relevance, aiming to create forms that resonate with our natural environment. Over the past 20 years, Alain has played a pivotal role in influencing the Ethnicraft designs we know and love today.

Embodying sculptural elegance and contemporary crafting into a light and graceful form, the Bok dining chair has become one of the most recognisable designs from Ethnicraft. Crafted from solid hardwood oak. The clear satin lacquer finish is meticulously applied, providing a protective, smooth matte sheen that enhances the wood's natural beauty, highlighting its unique grain patterns. This dining chair is constructed from 100% FSC certified sustainably sourced European Oak and is easy to maintain. For regular care, wipe the surface with a dry (lint-free) cloth. For oil and food stains use a damp cloth to wipe stains and follow with a clean dry cloth. Do not leave liquid to sit on timber surface as it will penetrate and may cause staining.

A delivery fee applies to all purchases (per order, per location), inclusive of assembly & placement of free-standing items. Our delivery team operates from Tuesday to Saturday every week excluding Thursday and public holidays. Our delivery charges are $30 for all orders under $500 & $80 for all orders exceeding $500.
