Made in: Malawi, East AfricaOur love for unique, high quality, and environmentally-sustainable home furnishings inspired us in curating our Nomad Tribe range. Steeped in the rich visual traditions of the African continent, each of these handcrafted items highlights the beauty of natural materials and their textures.
We source from local artisans across a number of countries including Malawi, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Tonga and Burkina Faso to name just a few. The original pieces we source are then repaired and restored in South Africa.
We are proud to be the only retailer in Singapore to carry a range of authentic Bamileke stool. A round wooden stool with a studded lattice design. Bamileke is named after the native group in Cameroon known for their colourful beadwork and masks and rich cultural traditions. This stool, or side table, is carved from a singular tree trunk, recalling the tribe’s connection to nature. In natural light, beautiful shadows and illuminated pinpoints play through the lattice.
These stools are as versatile as they are stylish. Our range of Bamileke stools are available in different sizes and colours. You may choose to use a Bamilke as a coffee table, side table, bedside table or simply a way to gain an extra seat, the possibilities are endless!
Each stool will vary in height and diameter from the designs pictured, as they are all handmade.
