The Fin Side Table originated from Alain van Havre’s exploration of shapes and movement. By playing with form, he created a design that feels dynamic and ever-changing, reflecting his passion for sculptural elements in furniture. Each angle of the Fin Side Table reveals a new perspective, giving it a sculptural quality that transforms the piece into functional art. The interaction of light and shadow enhances its design, offering a fresh look from every viewpoint.
THE DESIGNER
Alain van Havre brings a deep connection to natural materials and exceptional woodworking expertise. His designs blend timelessness with contemporary relevance, aiming to create forms that resonate with our natural environment. Over the past 20 years, Alain has played a pivotal role in influencing the Ethnicraft designs we know and love today.
These sculptural side tables represent his love for movement. Through the use of negative spaces, a constant dynamic comes to life, making them look like different sculptures from every angle. Crafted from solid hardwood teak. The clear satin lacquer finish is meticulously applied, providing a protective, smooth matte sheen that enhances the wood's natural beauty, highlighting its unique grain patterns. Wipe timber to remove dust and dirt with a dry cloth. Wipe spills immediately using a damp cloth and natural soap, ensure you wipe the entire top surface along the grain of the wood.
