The Wabi Sabi collection by Dawn Sweitzer for Ethnicraft draws its inspiration from the serene beauty of nature, capturing the organic and imperfect landscapes that surround us. Inspired by her travels through the Blue Ridge Mountains, Sweitzer reflects on how the natural vistas resembled layered watercolour paintings, blending soft sky blues, greys, and misty hues into the horizon. As the sun dipped below the mountains, warm autumnal tones of sienna, sand, and sepia emerged, revealing a rich new palette. These colours became the foundation for the Wabi Sabi glass trays, which celebrate the idea of imperfection and the beauty found within it. Each tray reflects the delicate, ever-changing transitions in nature's light and colour.

THE DESIGNER

Growing up in the vast outdoors of Ohio and fueled by her curiosity and global travels, Dawn Sweitzer draws from a rich tapestry of experiences for her art. Her work reflects a blend of abstract, modern patterns, arranged in complex layers that interact with diverse materials, colours, and textures. With no creative boundaries, she creates dynamic compositions that embody her multifaceted inspirations.
