The Teak Rattan 2 door sideboard is hand-crafted by a family run carpentry shop in Java, whose carpenters travel around Indonesia sourcing the highest grade, recycled teak to create this timeless and special piece. The rattan panels on the doors keep the sideboard looking light and fresh, whilst hiding away all your everyday, household items. Our rattan sideboards are constructed using reclaimed teak from old or abandoned buildings. Each piece is unique and handcrafted by skilled Javanese artisans. Inset with woven rattan panels.
Unique to Originals - Our rattan sideboard marries Teak from Java with natural hard-wearing rattan weave. While this this design is extremely stylish it also serves as a practical solution to ventilate the sideboard. The rattan allows the air to flow through freely which is so important living in the tropics. Whether storing crockery, shoes, books or your valuable photo albums this is the ideal piece.

The Beauty of Solid Wood
Our Nomad Village range are wholly dedicated to the natural beauty of aged teak wood. The beauty of natural materials lies in its peculiarities and imperfections. Variations in the wood grain, colour, knots and other natural characteristics are inherent. These are far from flaws, but an intricate part of its character. We believe that these authentic imperfections contribute to the charm of our products.
No veneered MDF has been used on this product. All the wood used for this dining table top is solid Teak timber. This makes the product far stronger, heavier and of a much higher quality. Solid teak timber is relatively easy to repair should it get chipped or damaged unlike a veneered surface. The whitewash also helps conceal marks and stains, making your dining table look great for many years.
Rattan is a species of climbing palms, well-known for its flexible and woody stems. Using steam, the stems are bent and woven into beautiful, unique designs. It is easy to maintain. Rattan is renewable and considered very sustainable as it doesn’t require pesticides or fertilisers and grows rapidly.
No other wood shares teak's exceptional strength and durability. Its resilience is due to its dense structure and high oil content.
Variations in the grain, colour, and knots are inherent to all authentic timber ensuring each piece of furniture has its own unique natural characteristics. We believe that these characteristics bring the piece to life.
Following these simple guidelines to care for your teak piece will keep it looking its best.
- Wipe both rattan and timber to remove dust and dirt with a dry cloth.
- Try to wipe spills immediately with a damp cloth and if needed, a natural soap.
