Tanbo ottoman is an exercise in waste reduction. By re-purposing the surplus leather cuts from regular sofa production a beautiful patchwork is created, reminiscent of the rice fields known in Japan as Tanbo. The foam filling is also sourced from production surplus, giving this stool an extremely low carbon footprint.

About Our Leather
The leather we use on our furniture is a full-grain, full aniline leather. The hides are sourced in South America and finished in Italian tanneries.
The hides are tanned exclusively with soluble dyes and then given a brushed finish. They aren’t painted. This means that the leather retains its natural surface, making it more breathable and supple. You will also be able to see the original grain and markings of the hide.
We treat the leather this way as it gives it that smooth, buttery soft velvet feel that will age beautifully over time developing a rich patina and colour.
We work closely with our suppliers to select and curate a wide range of leathers to best suit your different upholstery needs.
Quality comes first; our products are designed and built to last.
If you follow our guidelines throughout the life of your furniture piece, you will have a product that ages gracefully and looks its best for years.
- You may choose to occasionally vacuum the frame under the ottoman with a clean soft brush attachment.
- Avoid using leather polishes and harsh cleaning agents as this might damage the finish of the aniline leather.
