A brief history of Lloyd Loom
The fascinating history of Lloyd Loom starts in the United States of America in 1917, during the tumultuous times of the first World War. Entrepreneur Marshall Burns Lloyd, who was producing rattan baby carriages and strollers at that time, found himself confronted with a severe drop in the supply of rattan as a result of the war. As an alternative, he invented a technique in which kraft paper is twisted around a metal wire and subsequently machine-woven into large sheets. When putting the material to use in his production of baby carriages, he discovered that this new material is not only much stronger but also a lot softer and thus more comfortable than rattan. He called his invention Lloyd Loom.
Powder Coated Frame
Powder coating is a safe, dry finishing process that uses finely ground particles of pigment and resin to create a protective finish on steel frames. When applied to steel, powder coating provides a protective barrier against moisture and humidity that helps prevent corrosion and rust. It does not crack, peel, or corrode, and is easy to maintain and touch up if damaged.
